I ordered a size 8 for my son and it fits well—true to size with a comfortable, slightly relaxed fit that still looks neat. The style is unisex, and the two-tone color looks nice in person.The material feels like a lightweight windbreaker/softshell style outer layer, great for mild weather and layering. The hood is a nice bonus, the cuffs have elastic to help keep sleeves in place, and the jacket feels well-made overall. Much more dressy than I expected. This jacket is much dressier than it appears above and is made of strong, sturdy fabric and a good quality zipper. I always like when the makers think ahead and add reflective materials in subtle ways so the kids stay visible on their way to the bus without wearing hunter orange (I’ve been tempted.) The main zipper has a fabric flap over the top half of the jacket giving it a different look and the pockets on this are large enough to tuck your hands into but aren’t zippered. Thank heavens, this is also machine washable, thus making my life so much easier. All in all,this is a very nice looking, machine washable, kid approved jacket..
